Course Description
This one day training course is intended to provide an overview of Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) for people with little or no background in GD&T or technical drawings. The most common tolerance types are shown. The class will consist of a power point presentation with class discussion. Question and answer sessions will take place during the course to ensure knowledge and understanding has taken place. Practical examples in block-like prismatic geometry will be featured.

Aims & Objectives
- Show that GD&T helps insure parts or assemblies will fit together
- Demonstrate how datums simulate conditions of use
- Provide an overview of GD&T tolerance types or symbols
- Work through a few common practical examples
- Encourage further study outside of class
Benefits to the Learner
- Understand that datums determine alignment
- Understand that tolerance zone values are diameters, widths, or thicknesses
- Recognize the most common GD&T characteristics
- Identify the difference between the GD&T categories
- Be able to discuss GD&T with a basic understanding
